Emergence #2 โ one in a series of new works by Scottish artist Kane McLay exploring confinement and mind-space in the current situation of a global pandemic. โEmergenceโ references the physical and emotional transitions we move through from living in isolation, establishing new social boundaries and becoming more aware of our thoughts and changing state of mind.

Kane McLay graduated in 2017 from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee Scotland with a BA Hons in Fine Art. Taught under the renowned artist and playwright John Byrne, Kane was awarded the John Kinross Scholarship to Florence, Italy. Kaneโs work is at its simplest, an intense study of the magnificent โmachineโ that is the human body but look closer and the inky, awkward marks and jarring lines make it just possible to access the โanimalโ that exists within all of us.
