Exclusive to Curious Egg. โEthereal #1โ is an original mixed media art work by Rachel Louise lee. Rachel often uses the female figure as a subject immersed in turbulent โseasโ of ink and paint, sprayed gold mists, and landscapes of illegible text and markmaking. Her work is inspired by Automatism -the subconscious drawing techniques explored in the Surrealist movement. The viewer gets lost in these layers attempting to decypher hidden messages and juxtaposed imagery.
Rachel Louise Lee graduated in 2015 from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee Scotland with a BA Hons (First Class) in Fine Art. She received the Bernard Cooper Memorial Award for the best portfolio of work in the year and her work featured in โOnes to watchโ from DJCAD as well as โThe Silk Roadโ Dundee Print Collective exhibition in China.
